The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) projects that Malaysia’s TIV for 2024 will be 800,000 units, a 4.57% increase from the previous estimate of 765,000 units. Nov 2024 total industry volume (TIV) grew 1.4% YoY to 731k, and accounted for 91.4% of the Malaysia Automotive Association’s (MAA) FY24 forecast
Looking deeper at 11M24 PVs, certain Japanese brands, like Honda, are still holding up, while Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Nissan, Lexus and Toyota lagged amidst rising Chinese (CN) brands. CLSA estimate TIV to fall 6% to 750k in 2025 due to slower national car sales with Chinese brands to make further share gains.
